Environmental sustainability

INCLAM is highly committed to the environment, as shown by the fact that it was a pioneer in being certified by AENOR (it holds certificate No. 71 out of over 6,600 certificates issued) with respect to its Environmental Management System pursuant to Standard UNE-EN ISO 14001.

In addition, the Group moved forward in such commitment by becoming a carbon-neutral company.

Carbon neutrality: a company becomes carbon-neutral when it offsets the greenhouse gas emissions generated as a direct or indirect result of its activity through the acquisition of emission rights or the investment in carbon sink projects, absorbing a quantity that is at least equal to that emitted.

Through a low carbon strategy, Inclam aims at::

  • Performing a sustainable activity
  • Fighting against climate change
  • Contributing as a company to reach Spain's goals as part of the Kyoto Protocol
  • Offering added-value products and services

On an annual basis, Inclam Group calculates the carbon footprint of all its companies and sets gradually increasing goals and commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Since 2012 and as the last step after measurement and reduction, emissions have been reduced through the reforestation of native tree species in 40,000 m2 of an unfavoured area in Burgos, also contributing to the mitigation of climate change effects, the recovery of the native ecosystem, erosion prevention, water regulation and water quality improvement.
