Inclam and Sustainable Development

Since 2018, the INCLAM GROUP has been part of the United Nations Global Compact, something which involved publicly affirming our commitment to continuing to implement the best business practices in the area of development and sustainability at a global level (See publication).

Being signatories to the Global Compact means actively working to ensure our strategies and operations respect and promote the 10 universally accepted principles concerning the defence of human rights, labour laws, the environment and the fight against corruption. It also means actively working to help ensure the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are met by 2030.

As a group which specialises in water and climate change, our work has a significant impact in terms of the following 4 SDGs:

  • ODS3: Good Health and Well-Being
  • ODS6: Clean Water and Sanitation
  • ODS11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • ODS13: Climate Action

Clean water and good health are closely linked and we could even say go hand in hand. Specifically, one of the aims of SDG 3 is putting an end to water-borne diseases, as well as reducing avoidable deaths amongst children who are less than 5 years old. INCLAM's projects which provide access to safe water supplies and sanitation systems (EPC) have a direct impact on both goals, this being especially the case for our WIHP programme: Water is Health Programme. (Discover more about the WIHP programme)

What's more, our consulting, IT and climate change projects have a positive impact on some of the goals linked to the SDGs Climate Action and Sustainable Cities, as they increase the resilience of cities, the capacity to respond to natural disasters and the mitigation of climate related risks, significantly reducing the number of deaths and economic loss caused by these factors. We also aim to help strengthen water governance and promote mechanisms and technology which improve the capacity to plan and manage the way water is used, as well as make it more efficient, particularly in areas where it is scarce.
